Northern Cape – Witfontein Game Lodge
Situated on a Game Farm at Salt Lake, between Douglas and Hopetown, Northern Cape, South Africa.
Only 45 min from the N12 and hour and a half’s drive from Kimberley, Witfontein Game Lodge is the perfect hidden gem of the Northern Cape. It boasts 5 km of dramatic Orange River frontage and is home to number of wildlife species and veldt types.
Witfontein Game Lodge offers accommodation for up to 25 guests. Different rooms are available and can be arranged to suit your needs. There are rooms with 2 to 5 beds, which can be made up as single or King-size beds. Four of the rooms have en-suite bathroom facilities. There is a large comfortable dining / lounge area for everyone to enjoy.

Eastern Cape Camp
Our Eastern Cape camps, located within approximately two hours of Port Elizabeth (Gqeberha), offer a completely different terrain and hunting experience.
This region is known for its dense thicket, rolling hills, and varied bushveld – creating exciting and challenging hunting conditions. The Eastern Cape is particularly well known for species such as:

- Various plains game species

Mpumalanga Bushveld Camp
Our Mpumalanga camp is situated approximately five hours north of Johannesburg, with the option to fly directly to Hoedspruit for easier access. Bordering the greater Kruger National Park region, this camp offers a true Lowveld bush experience. The landscape is characterized by:

Before You Depart
Travel Documentation: Ensure your passport is valid for at least six months beyond your travel dates. Most travellers from the U.S., Canada, UK, and EU don’t require a visa for stays under 90 days (confirm with your local consulate).
Currency: South Africa’s currency is the Rand (ZAR), and while hunting transactions are often in USD, having some local cash is useful for incidental expenses.
Packing Essentials
Bring clothing suited to variable weather: neutral colours, durable boots, camouflage gear for hunting, layers for cool mornings and evenings, sun protection (hat, SPF sunscreen), binoculars, camera, and any personal medications.
Climate & Seasons
South Africa offers year-round safari opportunities, but the dry season (May to September) often provides the best hunting conditions with cooler mornings and clearer game sightings.
On Safari
Connectivity: Cell phone reception may be intermittent at camps, but Wi-Fi is typically available.
Health & Safety: Malaria risk is low or absent in most hunting areas but always check updated medical advice and travel insurance.
Firearms & Hunting Info
If you choose to bring your own firearm, a temporary import permit is required and can be arranged before arrival. Firearm rental options are usually available locally if preferred
